Principal's Message

Welcome to the Rockaway Borough Website for Lincoln Elementary School!   Our website is continually being updated with new features that will hopefully provide you with a wealth of resources for our school as well as the district. This year as the district “GOES GREEN”, this website will become your main source for information as most important notices and pieces of communication usually sent home via your child will be posted on the web.  I hope it will offer you a strong link to your child’s education and the school community at large.

As for Lincoln School, our enrollment remains stable with almost 300 students registered for the 2010-11 school year.   In keeping fiscally responsible this year, our class configurations have been revised in so that there will be three sections each of Preschool, Kindergarten, and Grades 2 and 3, but four sections of 1^st grade honoring our long time district commitment to academics on this grade level.  For all grade levels Preschool through third grade, Lincoln School offers a well-rounded and comprehensive elementary curriculum that is focused on educating the whole child for all grade levels Preschool through 3^rd.   Even as enrollment and demographics change, our goal is to have our students grow and develop as life-long learners.

Our staff roster also continues to evolve this year to accommodate our ever changing student population and curricular demands.  Composed of dedicated and caring professionals and paraprofessionals, the school community considers itself a family as well as a school.   We pride ourselves in offering individual instruction that is responsive to the needs of all our students.   At Lincoln School, we work as a team and are committed to the success of every child.

Open communication between the home and school is essential for the individual growth, development, and learning at the elementary level.  We invite and encourage you to become actively involved in our school community by supporting our students, working with staff members, and taking an interest in all of our programs.

This year in response to family needs, the district will be launching a Breakfast program in each school that will begin on September 7^th.   For more details, please refer to our website for current menus, prices, and start times.  In addition, the BoroKids which is under the auspice of our newly formed Rockaway Borough Educational Foundation (RBEF) will be handling our before, after and during care for registered students.  Information regarding this program can also be found through a community link on our district web pages.
